Starting Where You Are
We started alinstar B.V. because we saw a real problem. Renters in Breda wanted to personalize their spaces but didn't want to commit to expensive permanent fixtures. They'd see beautiful home décor online but couldn't justify the cost for something they might only have for a year or two. That frustrated us.
What we've built since 2021 is different. We focus on pieces that look intentional without breaking the bank. Wall art that doesn't require nails you'll lose your deposit over. Textiles that actually work in real apartments, not just magazine spreads. And we get the renter mindset because we're renters too in this city.
Our collection has grown from a small selection of canvas prints to hundreds of pieces—everything from abstract wall hangings to linen throw pillows to macramé installations. We've learned what works in small spaces. We know which colors don't fade in sunlight. We understand that temporary doesn't mean cheap-looking.
